The Story of MPD

At MPD South Africa, our journey began in 2009 with a clear and determined vision: to provide genuine alternative automotive parts that keep South Africans moving.

That same year marked the beginning of the Chinese automotive wave in South Africa. While many importers rushed to bring in low-cost Chinese vehicles, few considered the long-term need for reliable aftersales and parts support.

Recognising this gap, Mandarin Parts Distributors (MPD) was officially founded in 2009 as an independently owned small business. Starting modestly, we quickly earned the trust of customers as a dependable supplier of Chinese vehicle parts.

As demand grew, so did our range. MPD expanded into Indian vehicle brands, offering an even broader selection of genuine alternative parts—reliable, accessible, and competitively priced. Word of mouth and our strong reputation soon fuelled rapid growth, leading to the establishment of new franchises across South Africa.

By the end of 2019, MPD proudly became part of the JSE-listed Combined Motor Holdings (CMH) Group, a significant milestone that further strengthened our footprint and capabilities.

Today, MPD operates 29 outlets nationwide, positioning us among South Africa’s leading distributors of Chinese and Indian Vehicle Parts. Our success has been built on resilience, passion, and an unwavering commitment to quality—ensuring that individuals, mechanics, and businesses alike can depend on us every day.
